It may be egocentric, but I see Austin Texas. Reflect the image from side to side and you get Lake Travis pouring down into Lady Bird Lake. Be sure to place a Hardened Command Post in the southwest corner (before reflection) to represent the real Warehouse 23 and defend it well! |

Re: Ogre Playmat M1 Preorders at Warehouse 23
I'm in for mine. I can't help but think "Battle or Montreal" although that city has a big island.
King of the City with victory points lost for city hexes rubbled would make an interesting twist. Hard to get infantry pried out of urban terrain when you can't just nuke it to rubble. Of course the infantry are pretty happy to play in rubble too... |

Wow, over 75% -- so we could have these far sooner than expected.
Please, next, a traditional orange map as a roll-up ... |

Re: Ogre Playmat M1 Preorders at Warehouse 23
Ok...this is from the June 20 OGRE NEWS:
"Additionally, this map will allow players to try the features in Daniel Oney's article "Going Downtown: Smart Cities in the Last War" in Ogrezine." Wish I would have read that before posting previously. ...now that's enough incentive for me. I can actually use it to play a official Scenario. I suggest using this strategy for all future maps. Have them directly related to a Scenario or Scenarios. If not actually included with the map, then a link or pointer somehow to the Scenario. It will give a real nice incentive to want to buy one, instead of just "because it looks cool." I also like the size is 2'x2' and a rollup OGRE Map that easily fits on a table. If these are more tailored to one-off stand-alone maps than geomorphing, and have a Scenario tie-in, these should be gold. I'm in. ...except I just saw cost for the shipping with the map total is almost $40. For one map. Any way a pre-order could be open to add other product onto the same shipping order? That's something I can do. For those who can afford that for one map, good for you...I can't. It's only worth it if I can order more stuff to make the S&H worthwhile.
