Default Praise and a humble suggestion

I want to first praise SJG for making DF RPG. It has been a fantastic way for me to finally get into GURPS after owning the Basic Set for almost 10 years. Here are some things I found especially useful:
  • Pruning the skill list makes character creation less daunting
  • The well laid out templates are easy to read
  • Advice on specifically how to run a dungeon adventure and how to resolve things that happen specifically in dungeons
  • The custom powers created for each Profession illustrate how to use the Powers system better than anything I've seen, including the book Powers

And now the suggestion: I bought Pyramid 3/104 to play the solo adventure. Now that I have, I can't help but think that this is something that would do more good to SJG as a free introduction to DFRPG (and GURPS). It's so easy to play through that it helps dispel a lot of the myth about extreme complexity. Obviously, SJG is the one who has the most information (and the right) to make this decision, but I thought I should at least draw attention to it.

That's a very good idea. I concur.

While I agree it would be great to have more official solo adventures, There are several free adventures including a solo adventure at https://1shotadventures.com/adventure-index/.

As a helpful suggestion:

You can build templates for any game you'd like to run. I've been doing it a lot lately for games and find that with some practice it's easy to create character types that everyone at your table likes that lend a lot flavor to your games while keeping choice paralysis and long character generation to a minimum.

You know you want to! As an extra incentive think about how many people will shell out money on kickstarter to have their character included a the sample character.

There are even supplements out to help you - there are two Template Toolkits.
