Frangible rounds should help a good deal here. Granted, they don't work very well if the enemy is wearing armor, but then anything that can reliably get through armor is going to be rubbing elbows with "shoots through schools" territory. Stray bullets are still an issue, given those rounds go a lot further before they run out of appreciable KE, but so long as people get indoors or behind cover rather than gawking (and snapping pictures) at the gunfight, you're not too likely to hit someone with a stray bullet. From what I understand, bystanders who get hit by something other than a drive-by shooting or similar typically get hit inside their house, from a bullet that went through a window/wall; a frangible round is much less likely to survive to hit a bystander, or at least no more likely than an FMJ fired from a more tame weapon.

No because ST wouldn't effect the Rcl stat. While the stat is based on the weapons actual recoil, it's honestly better called buck or spread. Basically recoil affects two things, the weapons ST stat and it's Rcl stat. The higher the recoil the higher the guns ST stat is and that is mitigated by having high strength.

The Rcl stat measure how much the barrel flexes and jumps when the weapon is fired so there's no real way for raw strength to stop that.

What can reduce Rcl is a heavier weapon, basically doubling the weapons weight will half the Rcl without raising the weapons ST but Rcl for projectile weapons can not be reduced below 2 without a super fancy action like Kriss V or just firing the bullets at a super fast ROF like with the G11.

Nice! It also turns out you can get Super Shortys with slightly longer tube magazines. 3+1 and 4+1 are possible, although I don't know at what point it would be large enough to cause Bulk to increase from -3 to -4. The 3+1 might just barely keep it at -3. Combine that with your mini shells and you could start packing a much more substantial load of ammo.

Continuing on from before:
  • A MP3 player analogue packed with Ogre Metal. Any humanoids, apart from ogres, which listen to this for a prolonged period of time gain an appropriate mental disadvantage.
Except for orcs, who consider listening to Ogre Metal to be akin to a spiritual experience (with commensurate mental advantages).
  • A stuffed toy in the form of a boar. Fur textured exterior, rather smelly (roll against HT).

Aren't ogres also known for being clumsy and slightly on the dumb side?
And if your bodyguard can shrug small arms fire, won't your enemies bring heavier firepower?
In short, what's the opposition packing, and what can you trust your bodyguard with?

Just a thought, but couldn't some of the larger weapons mentioned use non-lethal bean bag type rounds? Even if you are armored, they will still slow a lot of people down. With a big enough magazine, you can have lethal rounds further in for serious extended fire fights.
