Re: What is your Rarest Car Wars item?
I seem to recall Car Wars Dice sets being available in the 1990's - Target Circle/Crosshair on the 1(?) & Car Wars artwork Skulls as pip etc ?
Never saw them on this side of the Atlantic & can't find a graphic in an online search , but can picture them in my head . Have a feeling I saw them advertised in an ADQ , Pyramid or SJ Games Catalogue , but it's so long ago as to be very vague ...

Re: What is your Rarest Car Wars item?
That would be pretty crazy if it was. Where were those available at the time? How did you get yours?

Re: What is your Rarest Car Wars item?
I got mine direct from SJ Games, from the first incarnation of Warehouse 23. They were in-print (or at least in-stock) and I bought it with a bit of credit from, IIRC, a Pyramid article. This was about 2002.

Re: What is your Rarest Car Wars item?
Not rare but I recently picked up all the ADQs from a seller on Ebay, and also started getting the vehicle guides and combat showcase, stuff I couldn't afford as a kid. So fun to read through them again. Don't kill the messenger is still my favorite article.
I would love some of those car wars dice with the crosshairs mentioned earlier. |

Re: What is your Rarest Car Wars item?
I wish I still had them, but as a kid I sent letters to Scott haring/SJG/?? with questions about the game, and received hand written answers back. It was so validating to be acknowledged by a company/game you idolized as a young teen.
I don't feel quite so validated now, with the Kickstarter getting pushed back so much, but it's a different game anyways. I would prefer they just release more material for 2.5E. |

I've got a couple of those too, as well as a few pre-printed rejection letters for submitted material. And yeah, it was amazing as a kid to get an actual answer back from somebody whose every printed word you hung on.

Re: What is your Rarest Car Wars item?
I still have my letter from Scott Haring explaining my AADA chapter would be listed in Pyramid #13 instead of Pyramid #12 because of the long lead-time needed for publication. Scott appeared to be very responsive to Car Wars players during the many times he worked as Car Wars Line Editor.
Scott D. Haring is on Twitter. He would probably enjoy reading your comments. Twitter - Scott Haring @BudaScott https://twitter.com/BudaScott
