That does sound like gaming goodness, and exactly the cross-book stuff that fuels Gurps. Maybe parts of it will see light in at least Pyramid section dedicated to pulp sci-fi.

Any new news on Lucifer 5? Or any other supports for the Infinate Worlds setting? A nice Cabal setting for magic verus tech goodness, and footloose sneaky occultists loose on the omniverse fun, would be tasty.

To my knowledge, we haven't announced a book about Lucifer-5.

"New" development implies that there have been any sort of developments in the past. Unless one of us seriously misphrased something, there haven't been any leaks or hints, ever, along the lines of us doing any sort of Lucifer-5 supplement.

That said, if any prospective authors feel that this is something they can execute well, feel free to submit a proposal, as always!

It would be really tough to expand the notes on Lucifer-5 into a publishable campaign setting, especially for the GURPS crowd. Maybe - maybe - it'd work as a Spaceships volume with a bit extra about the setting added. But really, it's either going to feel like Space: 1889 with the serial number filed off, or Transhuman Space with all the best stuff removed.

My suggestion? Read a good book on late-Colonial/pre-WWII history and politics, design some torchships for each country, and decide if you're going to go with fantastic or hard science planets. Then run the campaign YOU want, rather than worrying about someone else's potential biases. I mean, the book Bill Stoddard would (theoretically) write would be very different from one written by HCV (just for a random example), and probably nobody in the GURPS community could produce a book that satisfies you, especially after almost a full decade!

Just doing Lucifer-5s Mars would be a fun book. Remember, unlike Space 1889, Mars in this parallel has magic. It is more Leigh Brakett Ashton Smith than Barsoom meets India-Egypt.

Venus has its own style as does Mercury.

Those are similar settings, but you could say Ray Bradbury and Edgar Rice Burroughs created similar versions of Mars. Well, a little bit yes and a whole lot no.

Between the Earth, the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Venus, and the Asteroids, their are so many venues for adventure and complication. A good PDF would be mind blowing.

Moved thread because it has shifted focus and is more appropriate in the main GURPS forum.
