OK, I believe them enough to hedge bets. They can't really see me right now, can they? I'll try drawing the heat pattern onto my (left) hand.

Some kind of DX roll I imagine.

He can't draw strait at all.

Reslin: "He's got a death wish! get me that rope!"

Reslin is swinging a second loop of rope down, trying to hook Julian...

I try to bat it out of the way!

Well I guess I'm looped up now. Does it look like he has a good eye on where I was looped? If not, I'll wait until he starts pulling and make like I'm being choked.

Remember Julian is upside down...

His kicks seem to help his foes rather than slow them down. The rope is around his foot.

There are two of them. Julian can't tell how how well they can see, but given how how his head is, they know they don't have his neck.

Togar heaves, and Julian feels himself raised by one foot, slowly up to about where Reslin is.

Julian doesn't think he sees any Hawkin in the sky... at least he thinks the other creatures out there are birds rather than people...

Oops; forgot that. Probably makes a lot of last post moot

Well no point pretending then.

Well, not all Hawkin are Lawin, right? Maybe some are even smaller. Might as well continue hollering.

Does Reslin have anything useful on him? Like a knife maybe? Or did he leave any of his possessions up with Togar? Could I bump into him and lift it from him? If so:

Pickpocketing works: Pick up to two:

His main knife
A secondary knife
his coin pouch
A light stone
A handkerchief thing
His watch

How durable does the rope look? Thick as an arm? I imagine he uses the main knife often enough for its absence to be noticed immediately, but what about the secondary knife?

How bulky are all these items? What are their holdout penalties?

You haven't seen him use the secondary knife yet.

the rope is about as thick as a man's thumb. maybe a little less. Not something you can slice through in a single second, but nothing that will take you more than a minute.

He's got a few of them. You're not sure how often he uses that one.

You missed when they specifically will be checking in. Tarbreth will be checking in with Padrian in two days.

They're all pretty small, and with your back back and rope, you have more to hide them in that you used to.

-1 for the big knife
+0 for the small knife or coin pouch
+1 for the light stone or handkerchief.

Hm. Wonder if my pen would work or if I'd need chalk.

And I'll be pulled out in, I dunno, 30 seconds? If only it were a little slower I could cut the Togar-Reslin rope. Probably wouldn't drop me then.

I'll take the watch and... The money. Once I'm out of sight of Togar, I'll try to change the time on the watch; an hour in the past should be enough. Then I'll hide the cash and the watch amongst the bag and the ropes.

+1 for the watch? Two rolls or just roll the lowest modifier? I'll assume two rolls.

OK, after they take out their frustrations on me for leaping out the hole, I guess my next move will be to drop the watch, maybe the next time Reslin rappels down a hole.

The watch is +0 to holdout, and then a +1 for an additional item. So it worked.

Togar hauls Julian out of the pit by the ropes around his waist and foot. After Julian is up, he throws the kid on the ground and puts his foot on him while he hauls up Reslin. If the kid struggles, the man increases the pressure on his ribs with his boot.

After Reslin gets up, he looks at the kid. "That was <>, you know?" He hits the kid in the face. "You deserved that. And you blew your chance. You won't be able to do that again." Something in his voice seems to indicate respect.

down another 1 HP.

They continue on their journey. They stop to rest fairly often, and Julian is faced with the choice of when to drop the watch: how much time after he messes with it?
