Actually, I just meant Vehicles 2nd Edition (which was written for GURPS 3rd Edition). Chapter 13 is dedicated to Sighting and Detection. It's possible I mixed up my abbreviations though.

No, Ve2 is Vehicles, 2nd edition. I think the little Expansion books are Vxi and ii.

The whole "standard abbreviations" thing for 3e did end up being quite complex. I can see why it was not carried over into 4e.

Re: "Lock-ons" for a +3 - There has been an assumption that this applies only to Active systems. However Hydrophones (UT p. 62), a passive system, also gives the +3 for an Aim action. It is the only one passive system that I know of that does so but that may open the door to allowing other sensors to qualify for the bonus if they can correctly model the vector, id etc of the target.
