Swaping big rock for another weapon
Hi! My group was playing and a situation arose, one of the players got a 1 hand weapon and had equipped a Big Rock, he wanted to swap the Big rock with the 1hand weapon, can he do this? if so does the rock goes to his hand or to the discard pile? If he can't how can he get rid of it? Can he sell it with other gear that totals 1000+ gold?
Thx in advance |

Re: Swaping big rock for another weapon
The issue here is understanding that players can have any number of small Items and one Big Item in play, even if they are not using some or all of those Items, for whatever reason (i.e. you don't have the correct Race, or your hands are full). All of your Items in play are said to be carried, and those that are giving you a bonus or special ability are also being used. All carried Items that are not being used must be turned sideways, as is stated in the rules, in the section about Items.
Cards you have in play do not ever go back into your hand without a card giving you that ability. The rules also stipulate that cards can't go back into your hand under the section about card management. So, if you are using the Big Rock and want to use something else, you may turn it sideways and use another Item that requires a Hand or two. You can not, however, play another Big Item to the table until you lose Big Rock (to a Curse or Bad Stuff), trade it, sell it, or discard it to power a Class/Race ability. You can not discard Items that are in play just because you want to do so. There has to be a legal action behind discarding a carried Item. |
