Default Gigantopithecus

Is there any GURPS book that has stats for Gigantopithecus, the extinct species of ape?

By normal rules, it's mostly a gorilla with an avg ST 32 (low estimates) to ST 42 (high estimates) based on weight? By KYOS, about half those numbers.

Did they do a 4e version? 3e would have a progressive rather than quadratic ST as well as a host of other differences.

GURPS Dinosaurs (And Other Prehistoric Creatures) included most if not all of GURPS Ice Age material updated to 3rd Ed. Gigantopithecus is listed in the ToC.

There really isn't much known about them. We only have a few teeth and bits of jaw.
That sucks for researchers, but is a boon to GMs. You can stat them up with far more freedom without too many "um... actually..." pedants.

They were related to orangs, gorilla+ in size, and ate fibrous sweet food most likely bamboo. Nothing else is known, so design them however you want to fit your setting.

I know! I’m planning a time travel game where it’s discovered that they were as intelligent as us.
