It could just as easily be Christopher Rice’s (now headed for playtest).

In fact, I suspect that’s more likely.
I'm pretty sure, I try to keep the notes together and RogerBW? or is it Bob?helps a lot with the setup he made.
And PKs been stalled for a long time so the wording fits.

Daily Illuminator, January 5th 2016, says Monster Hunters 6 is by PK.

But we know that numbers can change based on eventual production order (as happened with a recent pair of DF titles, I believe?).

We know:

Monster Hunters ¿6? by Christopher Rice
  • (“...has had an editorial review and interim revision, and should be going to playtesting before too long”; 3/30)
  • (“Queued for playtesting”; 6/28 News)
  • (#3 of 5 in playtest queue; 8/30 News)

And:

Monster Hunters ¿7? by Jason "PK" Levine
  • (“one chapter needs a bit of an overhaul”; 6/19/2017 forums)
  • (“work... continues... but other things are a higher priority. Big things”; 7/27/2017 News)

If MH6 is actually PK’s, and moving forward, then that means that his millstone of a Big Project is finished. But I’d think we’d hear more rumblings of that, if only as little tweets of glee.

Of course, if his Big Project is The Girl Genius RPG PBG, as I’ve theorized, then the recent announcement of Munchkin Steampunk: Girl Genius might lend some credence and suggest a coordinated release....

But it still seems more likely to me that PK remains cloistered in Big Project Land, his MH manuscript out of reach until its completion, and the Kromm comment indicates progress on playtesting set-up (choosing a lead?) for the Christopher Rice title.

Once a number or title is assigned and announced it can change but usually doesn't. But the moving forward line to me indicates itwas stalled and that seems more to PKs than Christophers which I think goes into playtest in November.
Pretty sure they only do one playtest a month.

Regrettably, I have to reinforce my opinion that GURPS Monster Hunters 6 is by Christopher Rice rather than by Jason Levine. Also, the much-mooted Big Project may be off the table, or at least significantly delayed.

Compare the current staff listing (under "Editorial") for Steve Jackson Games with the listing archived from January by the Wayback Machine.

I was worried that the previously announced cuts to Steve Jackson Games' staff and projects might mean that the loss of Pyramid magazine would precede the loss of a GURPS assistant line editor, and it looks like that's what's happened.

Godspeed, PK.

Well that sucks!
I'm surprised it wasn't announced, or did I miss it?

Edit: Hopefully PK will still write stuff for GURPS though.

As a note - my personal life is pure hell right now so I may ask them to delay my playtest till I can put my best foot forward. So don't read first in as first out. At least in my case.

Godspeed, PK.
This makes me highly concerned for the future of GURPS.

We'll have to see how its position with respect to The Fantasy Trip turns out.
