Re: Comment my megacorporation
I certainly haven't agreed to any such thing. In fact my comment about "a miracle happens" was expresssing my disagreement. And I don't see that anyone here but you has endorsed the idea that anything you have been proposing is "realistic."

Re: Comment my megacorporation
I think you're kind of doing things backward. You seem to be thinking that if you got me to play your game, or watch it being played, then the experience would sell me on its being interesting. But I would need a certain basic level of interest before I would even consider doing one of those things. You would have to inspire that level of interest by telling me what kind of game it is: its premise, its theme, its setting, what its PCs do, and so on. But nothing you've told me so far has inspired that basic level of interest; quite the contrary.

Re: Comment my megacorporation
As we previously agreed, I have written the following for the appointment of judges favorable to We Can in the Supreme Court (The names of the characters could change):
2012
At this point We Can has appointed 5/9 judges to the Supreme Court, a supporter has been re-elected as President of the United States, and they have a majority in both chambers of the Congress. Would this be enough to do and undo at convenience? Last edited by Alonsua; 01-12-2019 at 07:02 AM. |

Re: Comment my megacorporation
Is there any particular reason that the last two US Presidential elections in your campaign were in 2014 and 2018, instead of, as in our world, elections occurring in 2012 and 2016?

Re: Comment my megacorporation
Completely unrealistic timeline which ignores the actions of the Democratic and Republican Parties as well as the federal bureaucracy, intelligence community, and military. In the real world, the Democratic and Republican Parties would work together to exclude the new party on the local and state level, denying them access to local, state, and federal ballots, and would start investigating the suspicious funding of the new party from day one. In addition, the federal bureaucracy would start legal actions against the people involved for banking, election, and securities fraud (you are talkiny about the Obama Justice Department) and the intelligence community would start killing and imprisoning anyone involved in the memetics campaign (they have procedures for dealing with enemy psyops). If nothing else works, everyone calls on the military to bomb their enemies into smithereens.
A more realistic scenario would see the corporations suborn one of the two existing parties over the course of a decade or two and taking over a major media empire to be its mouthpiece. With indoctrinated candidates coming up through the two party system, it could change policy slowly from inside, and the other groups would be slow to act to suppress an existing major party. Of course, it could also just do a Manchurian Candidate on the Presidential nominee of a major party, but they would still run into issues with the Constitution. |

Re: Comment my megacorporation
Trying to present this in a way as to not endorse any ideology/party. Mods, please edit as needed to keep it within forum guidelines, as we're already skirting the line with this conversation.
Honestly, if you want a new party in the US, you start grass-roots. Grab a few municipal seats in a region, move onto the state legislature, repeat the next state over where the people share your ideals, and be prepared to face off against the two-party system from the word "go" in that both parties have the backing of nation-wide organizations to get advertising and debate space, especially since both parties will (possibly rightly) see the upstart as "stealing our voter base". This will take decades to get into the position of earning enough seats in Congress to affect policy changes in the company's favor. This is why none of our third-party candidates will ever win the White House, and even in the very slim chance they win they'll be fighting a hostile Congress - regardless of which party controls either house - every step of the way, and why even our third- and fourth-largest parties, the Libertarian and Socialist Parties, top out at being a coalition force in state legislatures, a governor (AZ had a Libertarian governor in the past), or one of the very few Independents in Congress who need to side with one of the two larger parties to get their stuff through (e.g. the two Socialists from Vermont in the Senate). Clear as mud?

Re: Comment my megacorporation
Now thats unrealistic since it is unconstitutional. The most they can be asked for are signatures from supporters of the party to reach a certain amount, they could not block them just saying "bwaaah but we dont like them!"
