Default Gregor

Alright i hope the monster is called Gregor in the engish edition too.
It's the monster where you have to fight with the levels of the player right of you and with the items of the player left of you.
In this case only the items count. The left player had a card turned sideways she couldn't use because she wasn't race X.
Now the player who had to fight Gregor was race X. So he could use the item. We then had a lengthy discussion whether or not he could turn the card straight and use the item.
My argument was he could not because the fight had already started and thus he could not change item status. The other players argued this was an exception because if it had been his items the card never would have been turned sideways.

I would interpret it in the same way, only items active at the start of combat should count towards the monster's level.

This is why Munchkin is fun: players are always trying to make things more difficult then they are, as long as it benefits them.

Just add the Level of the player to your right and the bonusses of the Items being used by the player on your left. That's it.

BTW, are you aware of this German forum?

No i wasn't. Thanks for the pointer.
But you know that's the thing. This is the SJGames forum. If i ask here i might get an »official ruling« from Eric or he could ask the almighty PTB.
Other forums could be turned down as »just some guys on the internet« by my mates. (Yes, this happened before :))

That's not even true. He could for example have had other slot restrictions stopping him. Or maybe he just didn't want to use it.

Birger Kraemer is the Big Honcho over at Blutschwerter.
he's MIB Regional Director Central Europe, MIB Cell Leader Germany, and translator of the German version of Munchkin.

That's not »just some guys on the internet« in my book ;)
