There's no encumbrance if you're carrying less than basic lift, so a ST 8 person wearing 1lb of clothing could do a kipup wielding a weight 12 maul at no penalty.

In the very least, if there was a DX penalty for using a heavy weapon based on sub-par ST requirements, I'd want to apply that penalty to the Acrobatic Stand if done while carrying that weapon.

Thank you, I think that is the answer I was looking for (and it is RAW).
