Optional Rule: Modifying Dice + Adds
Hi all.
Im I missing something or is the Optional Rule: Modifying Dice + Adds (B269) not implemented? If it is not implemented, is there a way to overcome this? |

Re: Optional Rule: Modifying Dice + Adds
It's supported by GCA, but currently turned off in the data files. I need to add an option for this to Options, so that we can leave it turned on in the data file, instead.
Anyway, in the Basic Set data file, there's a section called [ConvertDice], of which you can uncomment the last two lines to turn this feature on. Or, copy all of this into Notepad: Code:
Version=3 * The version information above MUST be the first line of the data file Description=Custom file for adding damage dice conversion. [CONVERTDICE] * Convert damage bonus into extra dice * * Starting this section will clear any existing * convert dice items * * break() 'if the bonus is this Value or more ... * adddice() '... add this Value to the damage dice ... * subtract() '... then subtract this amount from the bonus * * you need to start with the biggest break you want to deal with, * and work down to the smallest, because GCA doesn't sort these either break(7), adddice(2), subtract(7) break(4), adddice(1), subtract(4) Armin |

Re: Optional Rule: Modifying Dice + Adds
Thanks for the reply.
I have tried to do as you suggested (I found \variant\Variant Basic Set 4e - Dice Plus Adds.gdf). I have also tried to create one by my self (copy from your post). However, it does not seem to have any effect. But I am happy if it eventually will work in a future version. |

It won't affect any existing characters--to do that, you need to do a Resynchronize... (from the Tools menu). On the Resync window, the box for Damage Breaks is the one you want--you can just leave that one checked, or leave the whole left side checked, but once you click OK, GCA will begin applying the rule to that character when it next recalcs traits with damage. Re: Optional Rule: Modifying Dice + Adds
The Resync did the trick (Don't know why I did not tty that!)
Thanks indeed. |
