Re: Report To The Stakeholders
"Yet again, we transformed profits into inventory."
Ouch. That's the sort of thing that bankrupted some game companies in the '90s. Glad to see it didn't do too much damage to SJG. "Continue to improve on our Kickstarter efforts by successfully launching ... new coins ...." Ooh! New coins? What's the design?

Re: Report To The Stakeholders
Ah, sorry about that, i was confused -- I thought the "new coins" priority for 2019 meant you were planning a second series of coins after the Illuminati coins kickstarter was complete.

Re: Report To The Stakeholders
Thanks for the annual report again, those are always super interesting.

There are a couple of things that stand out to me as a mainly RPG-oriented customer: Quote:

Sometimes, for those things that are indeed helpful at the table, I might upgrade to the printed version years later (if it's still in print or available as POD) if I do end up running that game, and that not only relates to GURPS On Demand but also to the other thing that caught my eye: Quote:

Other than that, small detail: the page title (that shows up in your browser's tab) says "Report to Stakeholders for 2017" instead of "for 2018". Also, I'm confused, the forum is showing me pages 130 to 133 even though page 129 seems to be the last one (and the one this post shows up on). |

There is a vBulletin bug that sometimes, randomly, throws up phantom pages when there have been deleted posts in a thread. Ignore it.

Re: Report To The Stakeholders
Thanks for the report. I really appreciate the transparency and the introspection that went into it.
As others have noted, I wish my favorites (GURPS and Ogre) were higher in the list, and I have hopes that they'll hang on for future years. I do own a few Munchkin products, but I really don't play it any more. So I have to say thank you to Munchkin for supporting the company so that you folks can create the games I do play.

What gives me despair is the nature of today's game market. If any of those were to come out today, they'd be one-and-done games at best rather than being evergreens.

Re: Report To The Stakeholders
Always good to read another stakeholder's report!
As other have said, I hope to see the Car Wars kickstarter run in 2019. Thanks for another great year with SJGames. --[Lance]

Re: Report To The Stakeholders
SJGames has a track record for staying business. They have a low the difference between what they may want to release and what they need to release. I am also surprised at how nimble they are in exploiting opportunities in this market. TFT was released and they were immediately able to follow up on the enthusiasm for the game. They do good work.
