Direct to video sequel question
We had a scenario in game play where a monster card was played along with enhancers and several other monsters. The player asked for help and got it and they barely managed to defeat these monsters. I then played the direct to video sequel card which brought back everything minus the one time use items. They were unable to defeat it a second time and had to run away - which they managed to do successfully. The question is since they ran away from the 2nd set of monsters from the direct to video sequel card - do they get the levels and treasures from the first combat? If so - would they get the levels and treasures BEFORE going into the 2nd combat brought back in or after they ran away and combat was over? I read through the forum but there seems to be mixed opinions so I was just trying to get an official answer on this one :) Thanks for the help!

Re: Direct to video sequel question
The only ruling I can find on this is too old to use as the rules have changed since then.
However, given Andrew told me that you should wait until after Run Away to actually play Direct to Video Sequel, then I think you should also wait until after the spoils of combat have been earned to play it if the munchkins win. This is also supported by the new wording of the FAQ entry on Transferral Potion which states that you get any spoils of the battle that you earned before it was transferred to somebody else. DtVS does refer to the combat as a a new combat as well, rather than an extension of the old combat, also supporting this point. |

Re: Direct to video sequel question
I am pretty sure that way that works now is that the entire combat, including running away+bad stuff or collecting treasure and levels, is completed before the sequel starts.
