Do GURPS players collect dice?

None of the proposed answers fits me.

I have several dice, or small sets of dice, that have ornamental value; in particular, I have a set of three sixes that I habitually use for GURPS, and I have a couple of percentile sets that I use when I play Call of Cthulhu. I also have a miscellaneous pile of dice accumulated over the years, including some very mundane sixes. And for games that use large dice pools I have big piles of appropriate dice that don't get mixed in.

This is made worse by how often I play/run GURPS. I mean, how much justification does GURPS give me for rolling d10s or d4s or d30s? You guys need to rewrite the whole system to use dice with as many different numbers of sides as possible!

Years and years ago, there were d10s on the market that had multiple colors of plastic smooshed and swirled together, no two dice alike. Those were so incredibly cool! I wish I still had my set of them.

But I'm not a collector in the "lots and lots" sense. What I like every couple of years is to pick up a small number of dice that are really elegant or cool or strange.

I can't make this approach fit any of your categories. . . .

I usd to buy several general sets of dice (1d4, 1d6, 1d8, 2d10, and a d20).

I also had alot of d6 variants for Warhammer Fantasy Battle 3rd. The last decade I didn't buy anymore dice.

Odd. It does provide an opportunity to examine how your dice collection his shifted over the years though! Did you ever reacquire a set of mixed plastic dice?

While I'm here: I like collecting dice, especially unusual form or material.

I don't have the same level of desire to use all of my dice as some game designers appear to but between having plenty of any kind of dice and computers the "only d6s" thing of GURPS has basically no point for me so I try to avoid forgetting about the other dice sizes in case they might be a good tool for a mechanical issue.

I have one set of standard D&D dice (1d4, 1d6, 1d8, 1d10, 1d12, 1d20), an additional d4 I obtained at some point, numerous six-siders attained in various ways (rummaging through junk that was about to be thrown away, buying a dozen at a dollar store, my former GURPS GM buying me eight of them when introducing me to the game, etc.), one six-sider with a bunch of weirdly large crack across it, and one six-sider that has weird numbers on it (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, and 64).

I still have one special die from an old traffic game. Its a die with three green circles and three red circles (representing a traffic light which was stationed at the middle of the board). That die is about 38 years old.

Sometimes I use that dice as a d2 or to see what mood my character has.
