Game Design Discussions
So, I apologize, first, for placing such a broad question in this forum, but I was wondering if I could get a little help.
Do any of you know of a good on line forum, here or other location, where I might find a place to discuss ideas of general game design? All this talk of The Fantasy Trip, and the thing being that I was fourteen when I started playing this game and it, along with other games at the time, sort of opened my imagination to games and their elements which has stuck with me for decades, has made me revisit some of the games I tried to create many years ago and now I am looking for a place to casually talk about game design in general. If this is out of place, please delete or move to a better place. Thank you. |

Re: Game Design Discussions
Here is the Google+ "Indie RPG Publishers" community. I think that's one good place to go for design discussions.

Re: Game Design Discussions
I've added a Game Design category to the TFT Google+ community. Here's a link.

Re: Game Design Discussions
I see this thread got moved, okay - thank you
Anyone who might be interested I once wrote some rules for games a long, very long time ago. I've always been interested in game design, all aspects from mechanical resolution of probabilities, to naming conventions for game terms. Recently I was revisiting a set of rules for 6mm sci-fi themed warfare on a grand scale (not nearly as elegant as Ogre, but something different I was thinking through) The game, I called it Deployment Zone, uses some terms and acronyms that I thought I liked, at first, but upon review, twenty years later now, I find that they might not be clear where ai want them to be clear. Would anyone be interested in helping me work out some of these details by posting in this thread and talking about some simple game design elements? I would appreciate any feedback, positive or otherwise. Cheers, David |
