Best adventure for demo: Inn vs. Hydra Island vs Pirate Queen

because of the mermaid encounter that gave them an opportunity to be "nice guys". The new Knight was very effective in blocking enemies from doors and passages in this adventure.

The swashbuckler had a blast at the final boss fight at the "You all Meet at an Inn",

parrying all 6 attacks in a turn, but the scout may have felt a little shafted for having a lot of enemies with no damage bonuses.

"Hydra Island" gave nice role-playing opportunities before reaching the island,

and scouting and choosing entrances was also fun. Inside was relatively standard, especially since they avoided fighting the Hydra.

My personal favorite of the DFRPG adventures I have run is the "Ezkali's Golden Geniza".

Working on the legends that get handed out to the players was enjoyable for the GM, and the players had a lot of fun arguing with each other on which legend was correct, and how the one they learned from their family was "obviously the best".

I've been wondering how this one would play out. It's a fun idea!

I launched my first DFRPG game with "You All Meet at an Inn" last March. I followed it with a one-shot and then ran "The Mirror of the Fire Demon." We just wrapped that up last month. One of the other players is now GMing, but I'm hoping to jump back in soon with some of these other shorter adventures.

Thank you. I will be running the Titan's House this weekend, and plan to start the Hall of Judgement later this month.

This forum should probably have a thread for each published adventure, so the GM's can share how it went, and what other GM's should be careful of.

That a good choice that I would agree with. I have found that many enemies in the published adventures do not take damage bonuses. I am considering adding "holy" arrows or "Make Your Arrows Holy (tm) water sprays" to give scouts an expensive but effective way to fight undeads and demons.

I believe the fun of the "Ezkali's Golden Geniza" relays strongly on the GM making customization to fit each character.

I changed the the protagonists to fit the race of each character, added sound effects like "KABOOOOM" for the half ogre, changed the sex of the protagonists, etc. If you know your players' characters, you can make them feel attached to "their version" of the legend. I also made it so the first two puzzles can be solved by a majority, but from the third one the majority would be wrong. There is actually a true and correct version that they have to determine.

I haven't run Hydra Island with my group. My party liked both: Y'all meet at an Inn & Grave of the Pirate Queen a lot. I think they liked Grave a little better.
