Well, too bad, but inventory costs being what they are, it's understandable.

Many stores are happy to order in one or two copies of something they don't carry. Moreso, when they get three, four, or more people asking for them to special order it in, they often get a few more copies to go on the shelf.
IIRC, mostly it was that GURPS had basically no market and the Italian distributor was a pain to deal with, but I might be misremembering, it was quite some time ago when I asked.

I think those sorts of comments not only does a disservice to the diversity of old school dungeon fantasy and the possibilities of the DF line, but it also turns off players who like a more serious game...and thanks to games like Critical Role, there are a lot of new players who are interested in something more serious and character driven than the DF ad copy implies.
I agree very much. Now, the way I see it, much of this also falls into the writing tone and the art choice.

Developing angles and linking things to more dimensions of role-play is easy with the GURPS framework and its worldbuilding resources.

I'd be one of them, but since I have zero interest into Discworld or Banestorm —for different reasons—, I can't be steered towards these products.

There is a question over at theRPGsite as to whether this product addresses starting at less than 250 points. Can anyone give a definitive answer on that?

Kickstarter Extras;
I already own all of the DF line and all of the Pyramids being offered, so I see little benefit from order those. I did pledge for two box sets, and two GM Screens, the Pyramid compilation, and another two years of Pyramid. I understand that this Kickstarter will help determine GURPS future along with Discworld and Mars Attacks. I hope it does extremely well, but I can't really afford to pay for things I already have.

Adding a few extras, such as a commitment to print more Cardboard Heroes in the future could be extras that don't add to shipping costs, but do increase future content. Will you have new Cardboard Heroes in this box, or will they be some of the sheets you have sold before?

Am I making sense..?
That can lead to niche problems. A dungeon full exclusively of turnable undead is a cakewalk for a party of Clerics, for example. But yes, theming (even if not strict) is a helpful thing to have in a dungeon design - just be sure to mix in carrion eating wildlife with your undead and whatnot.

If enough people ask for separate cardboard heroes sheets, I expect, they'll find a way to make them available.

Really, it might be a good idea to put them in as a $15 purchase for those who can't afford the boxed set.

Also, what about a nice pdf of black and white map sheets? Full color is nice but printer cartridges are expensive.

I find myself in the category of people who find Dungeon Fantasy off putting and have always been disappointed by the decision to go with 250 point templates. In fact this will be the first Dungeon Fantasy product I've ever purchased. Sadly, there are many people for whom Banestorm is equally off putting.

People new to Kickstarter may find the Kickstarter Tracker site's page for this project amusing.

The figure it's trending towards is likely to be an over-estimate at this stage of the project, caused by an unsophisticated extrapolation. It gets more accurate later on, IME.

Track the project in relation to the Car Wars Arenas Kickstarter. They're both 30-day Kickstarters run by the same company, will have many of the same backers, and the Car Wars one got almost exactly $100,000 ($100,434), the amount the DF Kickstarter needs (Car Wars needed $50,000). Later, the DF Kickstarter will get projection amounts, with a range of values, but in this case, we also have this as a basis of comparison.

I'm not definitive, but between Dungeon Fantasy on the Cheap and GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 15: Henchmen it shouldn't be much of a challenge to adapt. I suspect it's also straightforward to use singletons or pairs of monsters rather than crowds of them, etc.
