That's what I suggested in post #1, with the difference that "uncontrollable" was supposed to mean "Rcl 3+" so that you don't need to remember "Uncontrollable" as a special standalone feature of the weapon.

Except that's what I think we spent the last 6 pages disagreeing with. I don't think that Rcl 3+ *means* "uncontrollable." I think it means it has a higher mechanical recoil due to a combination of factors.

An example of something that would be "uncontrollable" might be a BAR with its barrel sawed off or a 5.56mm "machine pistol."

As of 2010, my M4 had Safe-Fire-Burst. The only fully automatic weapons we had were the MGs and the DM rifle.

The former might be Rcl 3 on the basis of weight reduction, but also might well be Rcl 2, same as an un-modded BAR. (A stockless BAR is Rcl 3.) The latter I can't really guess at.

Oh interesting, the DM (M14?) rifle had full-auto enabled? Was that ever intended to be used? (Semi-related curiousity.)

It was an M39 and I have no idea, I was a pizza box for life, and about as far away from being a designated marksman as it is possible to be and still be a grunt, I was mostly really good at using trigonometry to kill people (a subject that GURPS is especially confused on with my job basically not having a skill despite it being really essential, which subject we have discussed in the past).

I heard that got a transplant for that now, but it leaves a funny taste in your mouth.
