playing an elf

is it just us? in our games, if someone plays an elf, they might as well be wearing a bullseye on their chest. the likelihood of anyone actually accepting your help is about as good as a drowning person taking an anchor you hand them and basically we treat them as if they were lepers or some other kind of second class citizen. does that happen everywhere?

Depends on the circumstances. If I stand to gain 2 levels from the combat, I'll accept help from an Elf, unless their level is too high already. Or if the Elf is significantly lower in level than me, I'll accept their help. The good thing about an Elf is that, if you don't mind them getting the level, you can usually obtain their help pretty cheaply, in terms of treasure.

And it is always fun to accept an Elf's help for dirt cheap, "because they are going to get a level", then Curse them to lose their Race after it is too late to back out. :-)
