Thanks P, but Outla already pointed me in the right direction. So it looks like I'm back to the dawing board on this one. I'll post the results later today.

Replacing lasers and rockets with LMGs and ice and accessories makes it a different animal. Good in its own way, but different. The zero-space turret is a mistake though, it becomes a target.

It would be interesting to see the Lightning and Chain Lightning duel it out in an arena. That should give some idea of which is better. I suspect the 40-pt. ramplate might prove to be too small.

That was the basic idea. Same body frame, different armaments for a slightly different "feel".

Ooops...I forgot to add in Laser Guidance for the rear facing RL (back to the drawing board).

While I don't have the spare time for a full blown game, if any of you guys want to take a crack at it, feel free. I'd like to see how it works out. I'd suggest the best 2 out of 3 matches.

And on the lower end of the price scale.

Raider: Compact; Hvy. chassis; Hvy. suspension; Large PP w/PCs; 4 Hvy Duty tires. Driver. VFRP (F) w/AP ammo. F 50, R 37, L 37, B 40, T 3, U 10); 2-3 pt. Plastic Hubs (F); 2-3 pt. Plastic Guards (B). Cost: $9,996, Weight: 4,045, HC: 3, Top Speed: 122.5, Accel: 10.

The Division 15 version is called the Marauder. It not only upgrades the tires, armor, guards, hubs, and adds a SWC for better accuracy, but throws in a ramplate and bumper trigger for the VFRP.

Marauder: Compact; X-hvy. chassis; Hvy. suspension; Large PP w/PCs, SCs; 4 Solid tires. Driver. Bumper Triggered VFRP (F) w/AP ammo; 3 FCD (1R, 1L, 1B). SWC; Ramplate, Armor: F50, R 36, L 36, B 38, T 3, U 10); 2-10 pt. Plastic Hubs F; 2-10 pt. Plastic Guards (B). Cost: $14,999, Weight: 4,438, HC: 3, Top Speed: 122.5, Accel: 10.

I tried something a little different this time and basically went for a rolling tank. While it's not as nimble as my other entries, it can take a hell of a lot of pushisment, but needs to stay away from ram cars due to it's CA frame.

Death Dealer: Luxury; CA Frame; X-Hvy. chassis; Hvy. suspension; Large PP w/SCs; 4 solid tires. Driver w/Body Armor, Fireproof Suit. 3 Bumper Triggered Vulcan MG w/15 rounds ammo each (F); OJ w/Pyrophoric Oil (B); Bumper Triggered MML w/Incendiary ammo (B); 5 Hot Smoke Dischargers (1F, 1R, 1L, 1T, 1B). Hi-Res Computer; Safety Seat; No-Paint Windshield; HD Brakes, ABS. 232 pts. LR Armor: F 70, R 45, L 45 B 50, T 7, U 15); 2-9 pt. LR Hubs F; 2-9 pt. LR Guards (B). Cost: $40,000, Weight: 6,540, HC: 3, Top Speed: 90, Accel: 5.

If you upgraded to SCs and an extra-heavy chassis, you could replace some of that plastic with metal armor and upgrade the tires.

Yeah, but will it come in under 10K? The goal was a to come up with Div. 10 car. Also, I edited the Lightning II (hopefully for the last time). One last thing, don't be shy folks, feel free to toss a few of your designs out there.

The expensive parts are the PP upgrade and the tires, but you're right that it would be close. HD tires are inexcusably feeble -- I'd find some way to replace them.

I have a design to contribute, but I have to format it first. More will follow that one.
