We're unable to open playtesting to those who cannot make it to our offices (or a local store). The custom components are not of the variety that we can simply email a PDF and say "DIY time!"

I'd have to guess there's some Non-Disclosure Agreements involved and they want to control who has access to the game materials.

I've got family in Lampasas, I'll make them drive to Austin to visit you and do a trip report (heh probably not)

You might be surprised what some of us can manage. :)

Or perhaps not. I'm guessing the concern stems in part from the cars themselves and also ensuring that the materials look coherent and professional, to give the best possible experience to the playtesters.

That said, is there any possibility of Car Wars making some playtest appearances at conventions over the next year?

I love seeing new results come up in my "#carwars6e" Twitter search! Either Steve is too thrilled about the game to sit down or you couldn't give the poor guy a chair!

How does the maneuver tool work? It looks like one of those slap bracelets or a large tongue depresser.

I saw the Dec 1st post on Twitter. It looks like a cross between X-Wing and Battletech. Interested to hopefully hear more next year.

Out of curiosity, and I apologize if this has been answered already because I didn't go hunting through the entire thread for it, is GURPS Autoduel, the RP parts of the Car Wars product, going to get an update alongside or soon after the CW6 release?

I like the figs, hate the vehicle cards they look too clunky. At least the old record sheets looked like vehicles - that looks like a Bingo card.

Neither is final design. These are all playtest components as we work on the game. To go to final design at this stage would lead to a lot of reworking elements and wasted time.

The bases, we think, are the final shape and size.
