Default Historical mideval setting

I was wondering if there was (besides the various low tech books) a good source for Gurps 4e in pyramid or in some of the pdf only releases?

Thanks.

It's been a while since I read it, but Middle Ages 1 (for 3e) covered England at the time. Vikings (also for 3e) is also useful, as they were the premier sea raiders at the time. (They never made Middle Ages 2, which IIRC would have covered the continent.)

Also, Hot Spots: Constnatinople (for 4e) covers the Eastern Roman Empire at its height during the medieval time period.

I also highly recommend Icelander's sailing ships thread.

And of course Hot Spots: Renaissance Florence (which is centred on the 15th century) and Hot Spots: The Silk Road (early medieval Central Asia).

I wrote "Compact Castles" because there was nothing on the market to fill that niche. It was specifically designed for low-tech campaigns.

Is there any fan-book out there for the Hapsburg and/or Holy Roman Empire? Seems like a region rife with court intrigue.

GURPS Saduria is a thinly disguised central Europe circa 1500, like Game of Thrones (well, that is more 15th century Britain), Warhammer Fantasy, some LARP settings, etc.

Sadly, Columbia Games LIONHEART is out of print. If you can find a copy on ebay, or a used copy elsewhere, grab it. The map is really nice, and the background information on locations and people are good. It is also system agnostic.

Pendragon is another game system game set in King Arthur's time.

Don't forget GURPS Historical Folks.

Generally, the books which give you what you need to know about a setting are edition-agnostic, and the books which give rules for an area of life are setting-agnostic.

They're not edition-agnostic, but they're rules-light and you can convert easily with GURPS Update. But beware of some other smaller issues that get casually mentioned in the middle of paragraphs: changes in starting wealth, cost of living, and Status levels for instance.

Banestorm is an alternative history medieval setting but has many, many elements that would reverse port back to medieval Earth.
