Default Entertainers and Master Bard

So there's one little niggly detail that I've wondered about every now and then for the last thirty odd years. Why doesn't the pay for an Entertainer--under Skilled Work--improve if the figure is a Master Bard? It seems to me that it should be included under the list of Requirements, and therefore count towards the number of skills used to determine weekly pay.

Of course, this allows a figure to be an Entertainer with nothing more than Bard and Master Bard--but that makes sense to me. Am I missing something?

(As an aside, it's soo nostalgic to talk about figures and not characters--I'm glad that text didn't change.)

I treat the Jobs table as a sort of sketch of what a jobs table could look like. There are a lot of ways in which it could be expanded into more of a framework for character role and advancement in the campaign. I'm sure there will be contributions in this direction from forthcoming publisher or third party supplements (for starters because I'll submit one this fall or winter)

I agree--and it's easy enough to write it in. But since there is a new edition coming--it seemed like something that could be fixed.

I wouldn't describe this as exactly a 'fix' but rather an expansion or revision. The new edition does a variety of fixes, expansions and revisions, but in a limited way and at the author's discretion and according to his taste. It is inevitable that we'll be left with a lot of potential expansions and revisions that are not part of the document we get. Which is fine because time will keep rolling on with lots of opportunity to create new publications, house rules, etc.

Here is something to give you instant Bard, temporarily.

Chemist Potion – Spiked
The Entertaining Drunk:
This vial can be poured into a drink. It creates a heavy intoxication for 2 hours, then sleep for 8 hours, at which time the user’s memory of the that time is a blank.
Figure gains Charisma (or an additional level of Charisma if they already have it) and Bard as regards to singing.
This is the fun kind of drunk. If he does something to upset his fellows off, though, the Charisma stops.

Requires the thrice distilled cactus juice ($50), $30 in common ingredients, one worm, and 1 week. Costs $80.
