Default Waiting for an opening to talk to your stick?

A: Is "Waiting for an Opening" (ITL 127) actually restricted just to fighters?

B: If not, can a wizard use it for missile spells?

C: If so, can a wizard use it for other spells like Scrying, Staff to Snake, Zombie, etc?

A - Probably for balance or at the very least just to seperate the classes a bit more.

B - I don't see why not if allowed. Although arguments could be made that throwing a spell isn't literal, since most magic (at least in Cidi) is phychic. But if it were literally throwing someone, I could suppose it would be the same as throwing an ax.

C - Missing how this would come into play

A. Maybe. Ask your GM. I would say no, anyone can use it, for attacks.

B. Maybe. Ask your GM. I do allow it, since I see the aiming part as a missile attack, even though it's a missile spell. But I could understand a GM saying no.

C. No, obviously not. It says attacks, not casting spells, and is clearly about "waiting for an opening" for a physical attack against a specific physical target, not a way to cheese spells. If you could use it for spellcasting, almost all non-rushed spells would be at +2. And it would need language about how that works (e.g. must choose a spell and subject in advance). Of course, some GM's just want magic to be easier, but they can make up whatever easier magic rules they want without looking for an unintended loophole in this one.

The whole rule is labelled optional anyway.
