Hmm, what about a maul or sledgehammer and an attack to the brain, would that have good odds of incapacitating someone instantly? Not the usual ninja weapon but should be quite effective in GURPS.

blacksmith: Of course. However, even a swung weapon with decent damage can eaily take one down if you can hit the brain.

Wannabe Ninja Alex(ST 10) has a baseball bat(light club, thr+1 or sw+1 crushing). He sneaks up on Gimp Bobby, and cracks him over the head. Alex has Broadsword at DX, and bobby is unaware(+4 to hit). Alex also takes an AoA: Determined. So he has a +8 to hit, then attacks the skull, for -7. So his final effective skill is 11.

Average damage will be 4.5 points of damage. DR 2 means that's 2.5, x4 for being a skull hit. This results in 10 points of damage. Enough to drop GIMP bobby to 0 HP, force a major wound, and give -10 to all knockdown rolls. Alex may also spend a fatigue point for extra efforrt, and add +2 to the damage, increasing the damage to 18 points of damage, almost enough to force bobby to make a major wound, knockdown, conciousness and death. With HT 10, bobby should be going down.

One hit, and bobby is pretty boned, and likely to be out cold.

If Ninja alex is strong(say ST 12), he can inflict 1d+3 damage. Average damage will be 6.5, with strong pushing it up to 8.5. 8.5 comes out to be about 26 points of damage.

Also, with a mere large knife(such as a K-bar) and ST 13, you do an average of 3.5 damage. That's 1.5 after DR, comming to 6 for attacking the brain. Major wound time. With the -10 penalty for skull hits, Fred is p0wned, if you catch my vernacular.

That's a very lethal instakill right there. It's less accurate than the throat, but when it hits, it'll typically kill someone in one blow, or atleast incapacitate them in one blow.

basically, blows struck to one's cabasa(head) can be very lethal, provided the penetrate DR. I'm sure I've been punched hard enough to inflict a point or two to the skull, and it hurt alot!

Other stealthy kills: Necksnap or Choke Hold.

Necksnap: Grapple, hope to win the oppossed check, then do swing/crushing to the neck. That's good for around 5 or 6 points od damage. In addition, you're grappling the throat, so it sounds like there'll be no screaming. The chokehold is, imho better.

Just choke some one to death. Quiet, no mess, and pretty easy. Requires a knowledge of wrestling or judo. Hah. Seems like a ninja thing to do.

Ah perfect, the vision of ninja's with baseball bats is perfect. That was the problem before, people where useing knives. Still the sledgehammer would be even more effective as it would does what swing+4 dammage? That is 16 extra dammage here, enough to put an even worse day in their schedule.

Hell I had an NPC punch a PC in the brian once and accidentaly kill him

If we make it "how do we simulate a cinematic ability to kill unaware victims instantly", then the answer is a 6d or greater Innate Attack or something similar (of course, Accessibility limitations will pull the cost down).
In this sort of campaign why wouldn't you use the Cannon Fodder rule? In this case against an unnamed mook sentry the assassin merely needs to do 1 point of damage.

No doubt, this being one of the major reasons people wear helmets when they go to war. Because it doesn't take more than an accidental brainpan nick to put you down. IF you've got skill 17+, brain hits are the way to go. They will take people down REAL quick.

And with brain hits swing weapons are the way to go as everything gets the same dammage multiplier(well mabey not pi versions, need to check how that works in 4ed, I know in 3ed the dammage modifiers multiplied).

Wrong character, she did not use mallets that much, all she needs is her fists. IT is the girl from city hunter would be a much better example.

Well, to be *really* sure it would be best to use a rocket launcher or a TacNuke. This is not exactly what I had in mind about Ninja killing techniques, though. :)

Seriously, heavier weapons make it harder to climb around and sneak up on people - which is what our Ninja prefers to do. Also, a LAW is harder to hide in your clothes than a wakizashi, I guess.

Choking, Garroting and brain-stabbing seem the ideal way to go.

Why stab? For the brain swing dammage it better. And people will find someone with a hammer stands out alot less than the guy in pajama's with the sword.

So we are basicly getting into the smatchet catagories of ways to take out sentries.
