Re: Funny Character Names
I managed to name a Star Trek character 'Ensign Benson Munsen'.
Also a time-travel character 'Hauptmann Herrman Hoffmann'. Have also taken part in a race to the shortest name; I got to 'Bo', and was beaten by 'D' (the vampire hunter). ;) |

Re: Funny Character Names
Not sure if these are funny or just cringe-worthy. These aren't mine, but an ex-player of mine (you may recall me mentioning "Putz" at some point.):
a changeling named Chan J. Ling, a German power armor trooper named Helmut von Heissman (aka Trophy), ... can't think of any others at this time.

Re: Funny Character Names
I forgot some.
From back in the day there was Singhud the Sailor. I once described an elven npc as so tough looking that the PCs should imagine him as what Clint Eastwood would look like as an Elf. He promptly became "Clintolas". Definitely to be blamed on my players is the Level Boss vilain who described himself as "The Herald of the Fourth Horseman". He was immediately mocked as "Harold".

Re: Funny Character Names
Lots of funny ideas!
What is the meaning of that name? (Not sarcasm)

Falafel is a Middle Eastern Dish. And then you give it an Elven sounding twist.

In my group, if we don't have a name, the character is Flobn, pronounced flo-bin. It's For Lack Of Better Name. We had a somewhat obnoxious player roll randomly for all choices in character creation and then name his female half-elf paladin Rya because it would be short for random. |

Re: Funny Character Names
I also wanted to make a Rokugan PC named Sashimi Harumaki ("raw fish with spring rolls").

Re: Funny Character Names
In Pathfinder Society, I have a tengu cavalier who goes by "K'Chaw." I managed to come up with a less silly birth name, and a reason for her to use K'Chaw instead, around the time she hit 5th level--just in time to meet her first tengu NPCs in play. (OTOH, she named her terrifying axebeak mount Good Girl, so her sense of humor remains highly suspect.)
I have a kitsune hunter/rogue named Mumbly Peg. My half-orc shaman is named Nar-Lok, as a pun on the Loc-Nar from Heavy Metal, but sadly, I have yet to play with anyone who has twigged to the joke. My wife has a gnome cavalier named Ellyjoybell Nopenstallen, which encapsulates that character's manic persona quite well. We didn't even make up the name--we just chose names off of the Gnomish Names lists in Xanathar's Guide. |
