Re: Gadgeteer: List of Fictional Gadgeteers
I always wondered how they just happened to have on hand enough equipment to arm a medium sized country.

For that matter, does 007 have some kind of McGyver-type gadgeteering skills- he's always disarming bombs and disabling robots.

I don't recall much of the little I've seen, but is he doing things like jury-rigging the light switch to the fire sprinklers? Maybe this could be a new type of advantage similar to Gizmos, call it Pranks, and it needs a combination of Traps and other tech skills.

Conrad Stargard from The Cross-Time Engineer, of course, who builds medieval Poland into an early industrial juggernaut, complete with bunny clubs.

Re: Gadgeteer: List of Fictional Gadgeteers
Daedalus -- Built the Labyrinth, a wooden cow for the queen of Crete to mate with the Minoan bull, and of course, wings for himself and Icarus.
The wings had a limitation we could call Fatal Flaw, in that they couldn't fly too high, melting the wax, or too low to the sea, dampening the feathers. Doc Emmett Brown from Back to the Future -- Builds the Flux Capacitor, among other things. The Flux Capacitor only functions at 88mph and requires 1.21 gigawatts of electricity- this suggests another limitation we could call Operational Limits: a gadget only works under certain difficult-to-attain conditions.

Joker – from Wikipedia: “The Joker commits crimes with comedic weapons such as a deck of bladed playing cards, an acid-squirting flower, cyanide-stuffed pies, exploding cigars filled with nitroglycerin, harpoon guns that utilize razor-sharp BANG!-flags, and a lethally electric joy buzzer. His most prominent weapon is his Joker venom, a deadly poison that infects his victims with a ghoulish rictus grin as they die while laughing uncontrollably.” I don’t think this was shown much in Dark Knight, apart from the surgically inserted mobile phone bomb, and even that’s not particularly gadgetty. Riddler – a trick cane and elaborate death-traps. Penguin – with a range of trick umbrellas- hypnotic, helicopter, whirling blades, machine gun, poison gas, sword-tip, acid spraying, flame-throwing and bullet-proof. Scarecrow – psychopharmacology based Gadgeteer Poison Ivy – botanics and biochemistry Gadgeteer Mr Freeze -- cold based gadgets and weapons Mad Hatter – mind-control technology
