Default what to do with 1000 pt

well i'm about to play a 1000 point character in a futuristic (lt10), heroes/heroic game, also the gm has allowed no disadvantage limit (so as many disadvantages as is playable... erm probably not good to abuse that)... so can anyone help me out making a good (ok it doesn't have to be a "good") hero?

If the game will have a lot of combat, I'd probably start with unkillable 2-3 (and/or supernatural durability) and extreme regeneration. Add some elastic skin and mimicry and call yourself a terminator.

If you get to -100 disads without being a nutter then good luck.

BTW you can go for a 'low' key 1000 pt dude. Instead of going all combat mad, it could be a psi with a bit of PK thrown in. That will eat into your points with no problems.

You need to decide on a gimmick. Do you want to be the guy who teleports the group across the galaxy? The strong man who packs a laser cannon? The mentalist with an array of telepathic powers? The All-Knowing Seer?

If you want a hero, there are Heroic disadvantages to Consider, Such as Code of Honor and Duty.

One Question, why style of Adventure are you going to play. then there is what role do you want to fulfill.

Just be aware you can play Supers with 1000pt. Combind with the High tech there is a lot of options.

If I had that kind of point budget, I'd go for a serious Possession build.

Or you could make "Normal" guy for 600-700 points (maybe some implants Bio/hardware) and Multi-Multi millioner with his Private nasty Space ship(or fleet),some Allie Group and bankroll all adventures in your fight for:
-Galaxy domination
-Destruction of evil
-Hunting down Pirates(they killed your parents and youre sick of them)

Ofc brains to "organise/lead" rest of party(semiDemigods).
With 600-700 points you can make really whatever you like and he/she wont be really that much weaker from 1000 points ones than 150 point char is from 450-550 one.

If you go with "brains"(IQ skills) you can easily make mage/psionic on that base, just specialise him/her in limited field where hell be as strong as others in 2-3 fields...Money will do rest ;))

Who doesnt want to have his personal Imperial Star Destroyer or two ,heck or dozen with all goodies on them roflol.

Edit:

1000 points char can be made to look almost "normal/believable" OR can be Demigoods as Superman/Hulk....

For 1000 points you could start looking at stuff like:

Astral Entities (with Psionics), Psionic Supermen ("Ghosts" from Starcraft?)

Aliens versus Predator-style/power aliens

Cyborgs, Super Soldiers

Minor Gods, Powerful Spirits, Angels.

Various empowered humans, such as arch mages, Psionicists, etc.

You need to set some sort of theme before you start designing though, it's hard for us to help out before it has been made clear what exactly you are looking for. ;)

I actually answered that question for a GM a few months ago who asked me to , shall we say, abuse the system.
There are some strong synergies between technology and magic (especally the tech college {duh}) that can be used to make sickeningly powerful PCs

Combine:
Draw Power
Starship Power Plant
Jump Capacitors

Depending on how much $ you want to spend on them you can have essentially infinite fatigue on tap (Q&D enchantments in the 2,000 point range were pretty common {multiple times per day} with my PC).

The real question is, with 1,000 points, since you can play anything and not worry about the budget... what would you have fun playing?

The most important thing to remember though is to get things with your advantages that the tech can't do, either because it's the kind of thing that the tech doesn't do, or you can do it at a higher power level than the tech can.
