Default GAMA Announcements

Quick notes for now . . . I'm sure you'll have questions.

In conjunction with SJ Games, AEG will be publishing Munchkin Loot Letter this fall, a retheme of AEG's Love Letter.

Also this fall, Fireside Games will release Munchkin Panic, a blend of their Castle Panic game and our Munchkin. There are some really nice mechanics in this one!

We're still planning to release Munchkin Kobolds Ate My Baby, probably some time in 2015.

Check back; I may have more to add to this post!

Interesting. Our family are fans of both Munchkin and Castle Panic, and combining them sounds intriguing, but will probably have to result in a game that is substantially different from both for us to pick it up, given the likely price, since we own both already.

I haven't played Castle Panic, but it looks like a lot of fun. Especially with the humor of Munchkin added in. I am curious how the mechanics of Love Letter will work as Loot Letter. I look forward to playing and owning both.

Is it fall yet?

OK, how about now?

Yeah, buying this one as soon as it becomes available.

(My one concern, which I suppose needs to be asked of Fireside and not here: is this still going to be a cooperative game? CP is, which is why I can get the people in my house to play it, but Munchkin definitely isn't.)

Oooh. Good question. The cooperative nature of Castle Panic was the real selling point for us. I've never even played it with the more competitive rules.

It definitely has the co-op element to it -- no one wins if your castle falls. There's the potential for more competition, however, and the default rule uses a modification of the Master Slayer rule from original CP.

I mentioned these at my FLGS tonight. The guys working were certain both games would sell and wanted to talk about events to promote them.

So will these be Munchkin games as we know them? Or entirely different game types?

Loot Letter will look like Love Letter. Munchkin Panic will look like Castle Panic. Both of them will have plenty of John Kovalic artwork.
