I'm not stumped so much as very busy. For reference, it's taken me over an hour to write this reply during mental breaks. . .

Oh, and thanks for the link back to a thread that had Erin in it. My goodness, was that woman annoying. Any time someone disagreed with her, she insisted that she was being attacked for being Canadian. Never mind the fact that she started out on the offensive and usually had everything backwards.

Anyway: I don't recall there ever being a huge, final discussion about it between SJ and myself, and from a purely logical standpoint, I'd still be leaning towards the thought, "Well, he's only getting the bonus because of X," but the reality is that the game's not that rigorous, nor is the card text on the Cleric. If the bonus doesn't go away because of Class changes, why should the bonus go away because the other half of the "trigger" for the bonus ability goes away? That's pretty much where I'd left it, in my mind, and I've never really felt the need to change it.

So, from the official standpoint: It's easier to leave the bonus, and it's a fairly munchkinly prospect anyway, so it stays.
