Re: Munchkin Shakespeare Coming To Kickstarter February 7
Kickstarter is live. I'd give you a link, but can't figure it out on my phone.
I gotta say, this is the first US based Kickstarter I've considered that has shipping not included (and not even solidified, with the promise of increasing it for stretch goals). Last edited by Mister Ed; 02-07-2017 at 02:34 PM. |

Glad its finally live. A little sad that the stretch goals is something you need to buy into instead of being rewarded. Here is hoping that spending an extra $25 is worth the stretch goals.

Re: Munchkin Shakespeare Coming To Kickstarter February 7
I'm disappointed that even with the announced stretch goals, this set isn't as good a value as the usual Munchkin fare. $25 for an undersized set. Not terrible or anything, just less value than the sets available through retail, instead of more (which is what I've come to expect from Kickstarter).
Though I expect once I start seeing cards from the set, I won't be able to resist. Last edited by Mister Ed; 02-07-2017 at 02:55 PM. |

Re: Munchkin Shakespeare Coming To Kickstarter February 7
Huh? It's $20 for the base set, 112 cards. And, given that it's made about $10,000 in the first 30 minutes, I fully expect the stretch goals to fall quickly. I would not be surprised if this ends up being a full-sized game, with a full-sized Dungeons-style expansion, with a range of accessories.
Edit: What the esteemed Mr. Hackard said. :D |

There must be some unannounced stretch goals then, as the listed ones still don't add up to a full size set. Good to hear. I'll most likely forfeit the early bird bookmarks and wait until I know how much I'll be paying for what. Not knowing the shipping costs going in is pretty unusual, in my experience, and is making me want to wait and see.

It says in the Kickstarter that we have more stretch goals to announce, right under the list of announced stretch goals. No point in shooting the whole magazine right out of the gate. (And if we blow the doors off, we don't want to run through all our goals in the first 24 hours - this lets us rework our goal timeline a bit.)
The problem is, the bigger (and therefore heavier) the games get, the more expensive they are to ship. We're going to try to keep the shipping costs in line with the current size of the various pieces.

Also, keep in mind that you can change or cancel your pledge later. I'd pledge at the Early Bird now, and reduce it later or withdraw entirely if you don't like where things are going.
