How have I not seen tar-shingles as roads before?!

Thanks for the idea exposure :)

New Car Wars mini arrived, in Flat Black Plastic.

Will be setting down a coat of primer, on this one, and the smaller White Plastic I linked earlier.

Never painted a 3D printed mini before.

Cautiously optimistic.

Primer is down - will try and paint them both, this week - before the "Pre-Painted Bertha" arrives, for the best possible juxtaposition.

Big Bertha arrives, in COLOR!

(And, I've tossed on some initial color, and washes on the plain models.)

Looking good, Edward.

The possibilities now available in laser cut MDF and 3D printing are going to make modeling in this edition fun!

Final Paint Jobs complete, with only deciding now, as to whether to Gloss or Matte varnish these.

What I do with my wargaming minis is both. First a fairly heavy clear gloss coat to protect them from the constant handling. Then a light matte coat to make them look better.

These look quite nice.
Do you use files that are on Shapeways, or do you create them yourself?

Thank you, VERY much!

They are the files, you see in the Shapeways link. And I did make them myself.

I am the artist, you see listed in the Shop, as EdwardF

-Ed

(EDIT)
In rereading your question, it occurs to me, that you might be asking if I PRINTED them myself.
I did not - I used Shapeway's printing service, because I can't touch the variety of materials they offer, on the printers that I have access to personally.
