Ok . . . I might be a wee bit biased, but as a teen I carried my original version of this game in my backpack up and down most of the 48 four-thousand foot peaks of the White Mountains (NH), so I'm going with Ogre!

I carried a travel version of Abalone to 3 continents and 12 countries. It's easy to explain with motion and gestures,
and amazing to watch how different cultures play. Game playing is a very endearing human experience. So always take a game (other than cards) on your travels. You may make a friend for life. Vito413l |

Somehow I missed this until today...but I'll second (and third, and fourth!) Age of War.
I picked it up to bump an Amazon order up to free shipping...and while I have no idea what else was in that box, that one's become one of my favorite dice games...and so accessible I've played it with everyone from adult friends to young relatives.
