Default GURPS Autoduel (First Edition)

Your rear-view mirror
Isn't a decoration;
Pasts define futures.
— Tina Turbine, Top Trainer
The world of Car Wars, of "Autoduel America," is packed with enough action and danger to keep any racing team on their toes. So it's no surprise that we meshed two of our best games into a great roleplaying supplement. In fact, the second edition of GURPS Autoduel has been available from Warehouse 23 for a while now. But we know that our hardcore fans are going to want to go back to where it all began, to GURPS Classic: Autoduel (First Edition).

"But wait, isn't this just a smaller version of Second Edition?"

Yank the parking brake on that line of thought, dueling fans. In this case, you're looking at two very different experiences. You ludoarcheologists will enjoy seeing the rules viewed through the lens of GURPS First Edition, and crafted by Aaron Allston and Scott Haring (instead of Burke and Garitta, the equally talented authors of the second edition). And since GURPS Vehicles hadn't come out yet, this version includes its own vehicle-design system! Other unique benefits include a set of Cardboard Heroes and some special adventure hooks, so you can get up and dueling right away!

So come dive into the past with GURPS Classic: Autoduel (First Edition). Just make sure you're gassed up and ready to race.

Pretty sure this was the first GURPS book I ever bought, possibly even getting it before GURPS Basic.

Me and my friends were into Car Wars at the time, and I remember the GURPS 1e advertising copy in the Car Wars supplements- in Car Wars, you design the car, the weapons have a to-hit number, and the driver's skill just gives a to-hit bonus. In GURPS, it's the other way round!
