Default New Celestial Discord: Theme song

Effect: You have a theme song. It plays whenever you do something to disturb the symphony, instead of the normal noise, or if you will it to, but only for those symphonically aware (though others might still have the tune stuck in their head). Only Word-bound may have this Discord and it is generally not frowned upon. These days, theme songs have almost become fashionable and since most superiors at one point or another have court dissoncance, they all possess it (it is milder than most other things, after all). In addition, it does not carry with it the stigma usually associated with celestial discords, unless the theme song's bearer tries to supress it, you recover essence normally.

The length of the theme song varies with the level of the Discord. At first level, it may just be the refrain, at fourth it's the whole song and at sixth, the lyrics are always understood perfectly, regardless of language barriers.

Song suggestions will appear.

For now, Blandine - Don't Fade Away by Dead can Dance.

I don't know if I would consider this a Discord. It sounds like something Superiors from Hell would appreciate but not so much in Heaven. I guess it depends on the Superior?

Andrealphus' theme song: Scrood Bi U by Lords of Acid (Hell, just about any song by LOA)

Fluerity: Marijuana In Your Brain by Lords of Acid (Again, just about any song by these guys)

Well if the song is specific to the servitor and not the superior then it would make it obvious what you had been up to. Demon's wouldn't know that someone- did something, but that John the Elohim did x.

Agreed.

If it's a Servitor, I can see this being a Discord, especially since Servitors generally want to stay undercover. But Superiors in general don't strike me as the type to be low key. They don't really have to be. If anything, especially the Princes, they want everyone to know they're here.

I, too, think that this works better for Servitors than Superiors, Two reasons occur immediately:

1) Dominic would be immediately on the case of any Superior who showed Discord in Heaven ... he's not afraid of going after the mighty, as the Trial of Michael proved.(And Discord is glaringly obvious in Heaven ... or Hell, for that matter).

2) Malakim don't let themselves get discordant -- a Malakite with more than a couple of notes of dissonance is going to get reformed or destroyed. That leaves out Laurence and David.

(I play in a divine campaign, so Heavenly reasons are the ones that occur to me -- I'm sure arguments could be made on the Infernal side as well, though.)

For a Servitor, though, it is definitely a disadvantage and thus an appropriate Discord ... as others have mentioned, this allows the Other Side to say "Oh, Tariel caused that disturbance" instead of just "I feel a great disturbance in the Symphony."

That's not to say that Superiors might not like certain songs -- heck, we've got an entire thread based on that! -- but I don't think they'd produce them as an uncontrollable effect. Now, producing them just because it sounds cool is another story ... :)

Clever idea. My thoughts:

1) The songs shouldn't be well-known to us Songs, but rather
2) the songs should definitely contain the name, possibly including choir/band, of the celestial
2a) there is a chance some of our well known songs were originally from this Discord--a Discordant and now Fallen Ofanite could have been the inspiration for Janie's Got A Gun
3) This Discord is still less crippling than most, and I would award fewer CPs for taking it
4) something needs to tie this to the Angel of Catchy Tunes mentioned in Night Music
