Default Kneepads of Allure + Level Up

Hi guys,

We have a scenario and we are stuck!

Scenario:

Me: lvl 3 (with Kneepads of Allure)
Friend: lvl 3 + 4 item strength = 7 strength.

My kick open the door is a lvl 10 monster. I cannot beat it. So I use the Kneepad of Allure to force my friend to help me. Our combined total strength at this point is 10 (equal to the monster). I then use "Go up a Level" card on myself to beat the monster strength by 1.

The question here is, since now I am HIGHER than the friend I've forced, does that mean he can no longer help me and Kneepads of Allure's effect becomes nullified?

Thank you all in advance!

No. However, no matter what, you can't have used Kneepads of Allure for the Winning Level. So, if by leveling up, or by the addition of more Monsters, you are now going to earn the Winning Level if you win the combat, then your helper leaves.

Hi!

thanks for the reply. was it a "no" as in the kneepads of allure's effect fades during combat if i levelled myself up After I've forced someone to help me?

or was it a "no", the kneepads effect still remains (and the friend who was forced to help, still helps) even after I've levelled myself up during combat?

i really appreciate the replies!

Once you've used the Kneepads to compel someone to help, they are in the combat even if the situation changes (unless, as MunchkinMan said above, the combat becomes one for the win -- then they get booted out).

So in your example, you can use the Kneepads to force a higher-Level player to help you and then play Go Up a Level cards to boost your own Level. The other player is still compelled to help.

Just to be clear, I was answering your question, which was, "The question here is, since now I am HIGHER than the friend I've forced, does that mean he can no longer help me and Kneepads of Allure's effect becomes nullified?" So, the "no" answer meant that the helper doesn't get to leave and the effect of the card is not nullified.
