Re: Hexagram #4 Coming to Kickstarter
We will launch the project around 10 am Austin time. For those who missed the new playmats that were offered in the Hexagram #3 campaign, we will have a limited reward level that includes Hexagram #4 and those two newer playmats.

One can but try. Workshop the idea with friends if it helps. And write to your strengths - if you have outside interests that can feed into a cool game idea, all the better!

Re: Hexagram #4 Coming to Kickstarter
I spent two hours on my entry, one hour of which was doing the map in Shadekeep's tool. It helped that my concept only required me to map out part of one of the temples. (Well I had been thinking about the general concept for a while before then.)

Re: Hexagram #4 Coming to Kickstarter
I've got drafts about a dozen hexagram submissions I would love to submit, but also have the time to really finish off none of them.

Re: Hexagram #4 Coming to Kickstarter
Terquem.
Learn what freewriting is and do it and do it often.people get stuck with writing because in our heads from high school and even earlier were taught to get the first draft right the first time. This is a big mistake. Take 15 minutes and just blurted out your ideas as if you were talking. You can always go back and get it later. It's not going to be perfect it's not supposed to be. Anybody can free write a whole page within about 15 to 20 minutes. You don't hit the backspace button, you don't editing go back, you keep moving forward and it later get all your ideas out there even if you cut yourself off and go on a tangent it doesn't matter you just keep writing and moving forward. |

Re: Hexagram #4 Coming to Kickstarter
Exactly. This is what doing NaNoWriMo taught me - write first, revise after. Don't try to get everything phrased perfectly on the first pass, or check spelling, or anything else, just get it out. Then you do all the editing, revising, and polishing. If you edit while you write the first draft, it becomes grueling and takes a long time to get even a little bit done. Just let it flow, and over time you may become surprised at how good it is when it comes out without all that mental filtering.

Re: Hexagram #4 Coming to Kickstarter
I was never taught to get a writing proof right the first time. I went to school in the 1980s.
