Any additional published Summoning spells?
Does anyone know if additional Summoning spells have been published for TFT, in companion books, adventures or magazines?
I'm looking for variety but before I house rule anything, I want to see what else is out there. If you happen to know where additional Summoning spells can be found or rules of thumb to create balanced versions of my own, I would love to hear about it. Thanks in advance... |

Re: Any additional published Summoning spells?
I expect a lot of GM has added some. These are the easiest spells to add. But I do not know of any published new spells.
Also, we are not likely to see any new published ones as SJG's list of rules to creating publishable content requests that no new rules or spells be submitted. |

Re: Any additional published Summoning spells?
Also there is a "Show me the magic" thread under House Rules where folks put spells they have created.
http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?t=161151 Maybe there are Summoning spells in that thread. |

Thanks for the comments and links. I think I'll dig through the house rules forum and see what I can dig up.

Re: Any additional published Summoning spells?
There were some in articles in the original publisher's magazine, Interplay.
One idea presented re-worked the summoning spells into many levels of spell which could summon a wide variety of creatures. Kind of cool but also made those spells much more useful in creative ways, and much more powerful overall, which they don't really need to be since they're already really powerful. On and also the Multiple Enchantment spell, which could let you summon, say, 4 myrmidons at once if you knew the 4-hex summoning spell and Multiple Enchantment. Again, cool but increasing the power of already-very-powerful wizards. |

Re: Any additional published Summoning spells?
I posted some suggested changes to Summoning a while ago here: http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread...71#post2325971 . There are some similarities to the Interplay article, but it was developed independently.
As far as other officially published Summoning spells, the only one I'm aware of is "Summon Apep", which was in Pyramid 118 as part of an adventure. |
