Brass BA**S
I am in a supers game and one of the PC's is an 8' tall proportional man without fat or skinny. He is made of solid brass.
How would I figure out how heavy he should be, assuming that we are using the actual weight of brass?

From Wikipedia:

So, figure out the nomal made-of-flesh-and-bone weight of your brass guy and multiply by 8.5.

Your man is 2.43 meters tall. An average man is 1.70 meters tall and 73.46 Liters. So he is 1.43 times as large as normal. Which makes him 2.92 times the volume or 105.04 L. So his mass is 893 kilograms or 1970 pounds. As on object he would have 100 HP. |

Re: Brass BA**S
Say he's a Flesh and Bone guy, 6' tall, weighing about 190 lbs. Now scale him up to 8.5 feet, he's now around 2.84 x the volume, so 2.84 the mass, and around 540 lbs.
Making him out of casting brass makes him weigh 6100 lbs give or take. The density of bulk human flesh is slightly lower than water. The density of live humans is often a noticeable bit less, due to air passages, lungs, etc - but the lower density areas are largely distributed towards one end of the human, and the volume of that end of the human tends to change by +/- lung capacity as the human is breathing ;) And of course fat content can significantly change the overall density.

Re: Brass BA**S
Meaning 146 HP (since he's Homogeneous).

A GURPS-normal human is 5'8" and 145 lbs. (according to the chart on B18). The density of a human is 1.01 g/cm^3; the density of brass is 8.4 to 8.73 g/cm^3. The weight of a giant human would weigh ( 8' / 5'8" )^3 = 2.814 times more than normal. Multiplying that by the relative density of brass makes an 8'-tall brass human weigh 3393 to 3527 lbs. Re: Brass BA**S
Yeah, I'm in agreement with those numbers too (and ~90 HP). I'm not following why Bruno thinks that volume would increase that much, or why she chose to make it half a foot taller, either.
