Plenty of 1/48 scale vehicle kits out there. Not many bikes though. depends on what you want really.

It also dpends on which flavour of 28 mm you are matching to as well. Then again GW aren't really 28 mm either.

Re: Best source of vehicles that work with 28mm minitures
By their own admission GW figures are in what they call "Heroic" scale. The body parts are in different scales to suit GW's "look". The heads for example are disproportionately small and the legs large. They are generally referred to as 38mm, though the scale keeps increasing and 40mm is probably a better approximation.
Dark Future figures were puportedly 20mm and their proportions were more realistic. The models were compatible with comercially available 1/72nd scale vehicles (hotwheels, matchbox etc). 40K vehicles don't seem to be any specific scale (indeed comparing figures with the transports supposed to accomodate them makes it obvious that at least in the past internal mechanisms must have been magical in order to be able to cram enough figures in). The current model of the landraider is significantly bigger than its original incarnation and they are starting to look compatible with their own ranges. Obviously it is easier to justify these proportions when dealing with made up vehicles. In fairness to GW, their figures still look good and the new vehicle models are very sexy. Even the conventional historical wargames figure manufacturers seem to vary on the actual size of their 28mm figures. Then again not every soldier is 5'11". |

Re: Best source of vehicles that work with 28mm minitures
GW runs 30mm. They call it Heroic 28, but it's typically 30mm. Some more recent figs are pushing 31-32mm scale, but remember, space marines are described as 2m tall PLUS armor, so in 30mm, they should be 32mm overall height.
Unless you're talking the way large Inquisitor scale. those are 52mm |
