Card Game vs Board Game
Lessons from the front:
I've demoed Munchkin Quest at Spiel and have been translating the game for the Dutch market the past week, these are the lessons and pitfalls I've encountered so far. Pitfalls can occur if you assume, like me, that you already know the board game because you know the card game. >Added clarifications and corrections< >Up to and including post #4 < > Added a few other things, fixed some spelling/grammar< >Covered up to and including post #6< > MunchkinMan <

You also have a belt that can hold an unlimited number of items that aren't worn (as defined above) and don't require Hands to use.

Re: Card Game vs Board Game
That's a pretty good list guys.
The overall rule is read everything carefully, no matter how familiar it seems. Almost everything has changed in some way. We were trying to make a game for the existing Munchkin fans that would be a new way to play the game, but still feel the same. Quote:

Re: Card Game vs Board Game
This one hit us on our first game. While it may not be strictly card vs board game, it's something that seemed intuitive that was wrong. |

Re: Card Game vs Board Game
Hi, just started playing Munchkin Quest after playing Munchkin for a while. Still learning the rules (so many slight differences) and thought I'd add one to the thread:
You can carry more than 1 big item in MQ but for each one after the first it reduces your Move by 1. (Btw, should I interpret this as unlimited big items or do you stop adding big items if you have no more Move left to sacrifice?) |
