Rat on a stick + escape question
If two monsters are in play can the rat on a stick be used to remove one of the monsters leaving the player to fight the remaining monster(s), similar to how a magic lamp would be used? The language in the card says "escape from any monster level 8 or below".

Re: Rat on a stick + escape question
It will not remove a monster from combat. After you have lost the combat, you can discard it to avoid the bad stuff from any monster level 8 or below

Re: Rat on a stick + escape question
So if there are two monsters in combat can you use the magic lamp to get rid of one of the monsters and then kill the remaining.

Re: Rat on a stick + escape question
Yes, provided you hadn't started Running Away yet. It says it can be used on your turn, so it can be used during the combat. The Rat on a Stick can't be used like that as it only allows you to automatically escape a monster. In order to escape a monster, you must be Running Away, and once you start Running Away, you can't go back to fighting as you already declared you had lost.
