Blender: What's the same?
So I've been looking into buying new sets and have read various things about mojos, powers, and training that's left me confused. I understand that all classes are classes, and that all accents and races are races. What else is the same but under a different name??

Vehicles and steeds are the same, but ships are not. Also curses, traps, and disasters are the same. Sidekicks, minions, and hirelings are the same, and I believe mooks are as well, but could be wrong about the last one.

Re: Blender: What's the same?
Hirelings, Sidekicks, Minions, Allies, Mooks and Comrades are all the same thing with regards to Hireling rules and that you can only have one of any of the types in play, but some of them (Mooks and Comrades) have special powers that the others don't have.
The best place to get all this information about blending is the Cheat With Both Hands Rules. My Rules Checklist linked in my signature also summarises all the information from there, so that works as a neat reference tool too (although it has not been officially reviewed). |

They cannot. Classes, Races, Accents, Loyalties, and Mojos are all different and distinct.

And Birthrights are different too, and Origins, right?

Yes and yes. I think we've already listed all the things that are the same:
Everything else, at least in the most recent versions of all current sets, is different. |

Re: Blender: What's the same?
For the sake of simplicity: Everything is different unless a rule says otherwise. There is a rule that explicitly states that Hirelings, Mooks, Minions, Allies, Comrades, and Sidekicks are the same. There is a rule that states that Curse, Traps, and Disasters are the same. Same for Steeds and Vehicles. A fair amount of this is covered in Munchkin 7's rules. It actually explicitly discusses things that are different, too, just to play it safe.
For certain, that file needs to be updated to discuss Comrades, Allies, and Disasters. |
