Default AMA (now over) for GURPS After the End series

EDIT: The AMA is over now that GURPS After the End 1: Wastelanders has been released (announcement thread here), but feel free to keep discussing the series in general here.

-------------------

For those not familiar with the initialism, "AMA" stands for "Ask Me Anything." Specifically, "Ask PK anything about the forthcoming GURPS After the End series." Right here, in this thread.

Here are the rules:

1. Please phrase each question as a single sentence starting with "PK," and ending with a question mark; e.g., "PK, will ATE be printed on recycled electrons?" I reserve the right to skip over essays.

2. Ask as many questions as you want, in one post or a bunch of different posts. Ask follow-up questions if you want. Have fun.

3. Keep the questions related to ATE -- at least tangentially. And yes, Pyramid #3/88 is totally related if it matters. The only thing I'm declaring off-topic is why ATE was "on hold" for a while; after all, this series is about looking to the future, not the past.

4. Until ATE1 drops, every workday (M-F) I'll answer 1d6 questions from this thread . . . completely truthfully. (I'll try to pick those for which I can give meaningful answers, but I reserve the right to occasionally be a smartass.)

5. On-topic chatter is totally fine. Also, feel free to start other ATE-related threads if you have a reason to; I'm not doing this to quarantine it.

So . . . start asking, and I'll see you guys on Friday!

PK, what were your influences for ATE? What sort of source material did you use?

PK, what's the approximate length of the books? Are they small PDFs, something comparable to GURPS Monster Hunters? Something else?

PK, what sort of "miracles" (psi powers, mutant abilities, etc.) are in ATE?

PK: After the end comes the appendix. If it is inflamed and must be removed, will there be rules for post-apocalyptic field surgery?

PK: Will there be post-apocalyptic economics rules?

PK, will ATE also cover fantasy settings, for example cataclysms such as seen on Talislanta or Krynn?

PK, will ATE have information about events that happens *during* the end, for example to play in "disaster movies" such as Titatic or The Towering Inferno?

PK, what separates After the End from just being Action set in a post-apocalyptic setting, or Dungeon Fantasy set in a futuristic setting?

PK, what is the most interesting thing about the After the End series, either from a 'back stage' point of view (such as issues that came up when actually writing the books, or interesting bits of trivia you learned while writing it) or from a gameplay point of view (ie, what would intrigue a player about After the End to make them want to play it)?

EDIT: Fine, but the PK? bit is unsightly. Edit2: Actually, ifbthat was just to make searching for questions easier, it makes entire amounts of sense. I withdraw my objection to the style.

Langy, you may want to edit your questions; see rule #1 in PK's original post.

PK, will After the End focus on one form of apocalypse per book, or cover multiple types of apocalypse in the initial volume with subsequent books giving more information on each?

PK, will a "return of magic" type apocalypse ever be covered?

PK, will a post-post-apocalyptic deal where people are rebuilding after surviving the apocalypse and reestablishing trade and infrastructure be covered at any point?

PK, what is the standard point value for the templates in ATE?

PK, is ATE intended to be cinematic or realistic?

PK, how many ATE books are currently planned?

PK, what does the release of AtE mean for the eventual release of GURPS Survivors?

PK, will AtE offer a single generic setting suitable for modification similar to Monster Hunters?

PK, will there be vehicle rules? Vehicle design rules? Is this release in any way connected to the vehicle design system?

PK, will there be rules for cinematic radiation and mutations? Possibly a random mutation table?

PK, presumably the first book will be 'survivors' and the second one will be 'the wasteland' or something like that if we follow the DF, MF and Action model. What is book three?

PK, why did you make a weird rule requiring us to start each question with 'PK'?
