Jordi won't like this ....
Vapula or Haagenti?
Christian TV host: Vegetarian hamburgers are a ‘Luciferian’ plot to change human DNA "Right-wing pastor Rick Wiles, on his TruNews program Wednesday evening, suggested that meat alternative companies are trying to create the new foods in an effort to alter human DNA in order to cause human beings to no longer being technically classified as humans — a plot that would make it impossible for them to be saved by Christ, he says." Doesn't this mean the people with Down's Syndrome can't be saved? Sounds rather ******* on God's part.

Come to think of it, if they aren't human, doesn't that mean they aren't covered by Original Sin, and therefore don't *need* to be saved?

Re: Jordi won't like this ....
I probably don't have to say this, but that's not how DNA works.

Strictly human. No celestial interference. Lots of demonic teethgnashing that they didn't come up with/catch this yahoo first.

Being an idiot about science isn't all that odd, but you'd expect a televangelist to have a better grasp of how baptism is supposed to work. AFAIK there are zero branches of Christianity who think its operation is genetically dependent.

Re: Jordi won't like this ....
Agreed. It kind of sounds like a variation of the Donatist heresy - the idea that the efficacy of communion depends upon whether the priest is in a state of grace.

Most Christian sects only baptise humans. Being human is a genetic condition.

You'd think Rick Wiles would get the distinction - doesn't his theology assume people from hated races don't have souls in the first place? Maybe eating particular foods will destroy your soul? I think there's some theology about the immortality of souls at issue there too....
