Default Is there a way to change the date format?

The forum uses an XX-YY-year date stamp format in posts, and I often find myself unsure of whether the convention used is the normal convention or is instead the USA-specific convention of month-before-date.

Usually that isn't important at all, but I just read a post about a Humble Bundle thing, that is a limited-time offer, where I actually couldn't immediately be sure if the post was written on the 3rd of February or on the 2nd of March.

Is there a way to change my forum interface to use a XX/YYY format where XX is the date, and YYY is the month written as a 3-letter abbreviation (or any similar format that is completely unambiguous)? I tried looking through the options, but couldn't find anything.

No, there is no way to change that format. However, maybe you can write down that these forums always go MM-DD-YYYY so you don't forget.

I find myself agreeing with Peter - the US-style date format in use here is a minor annoyance, and being able to switch the display to ISO-standard or some other unambiguous format would be nice.

If there's a wishlist for forum enhancements, I'd appreciate this being added to it.

"Wishlist" stuff should be sent to VBulletin. Telling us won't accomplish anything -- we don't make this software, we just use it.

(The only exception is when there's a feature that we may have turned off or not enabled, of course, but that's usually something we've done intentionally -- like turning off IMG tags and smileys.)

That's what I assumed. That there was a date format option in the forum software, but that for some reason you had disabled it.

I looked closer, and there is an option to change it forum-wide, for all users. We're in the U.S., so we're not going to do that; it works just fine for us.

There is no option to allow users to select their own date display formats.
