Fantasy Wormhole travel adventures
In a Viking period adventure the PCs are going to have the chance to enter a 'wormhole' into another world, travelling along the Bifrost bridge to one of the other of the nine worlds.
I could just narrate this experience, but I would prefer to make it interactive and somehow inject choice and risk into the journey. At the same time, I'm a bit stuck for ideas about how to make this work. Since these forums are teeming with wise creative people, I thought I'd throw it out to you guys. One thought I had was that the bridge might be fractured or the broken at points; there may be 'worms' eating away at the network connecting the worlds; still not sure how to dramatise it. Any ideas very much appreciated! |

Climbing rolls to get from branch to branch (in Yggdrasil), meeting dwarves, elves, dark elves, squirrels, ravens, maybe even Asgardians. Contending against strong weather.

Making the journey go well ought to require bravery! Feel free to choose your routes; branches twist and cross. But the most direct route to your destination will be guarded by the astral shadows of the people who oppose you; you can sneak about, but forcing your way through the challenge boldly will save you time and effort, and win you respect that will be useful with others you meet on Bifrost.

Re: Fantasy Wormhole travel adventures
Are these the same white stags that occasionally lead hunters through portals in wardrobes?

The Eddas say they're harts - red stags. That doesn't mean the white stags aren't related to them, of course...
